Please join CHAPA for our 4th Housing Day at the State House on Monday, March 11th, 2019. This is an important opportunity for housing advocates to come together to meet with legislators to promote the policies and resources that will help every family in Massachusetts have a safe, healthy, and affordable place to call home!
At Housing Day, we will advocate for legislation and resources to produce, preserve, and plan for more affordable housing in Massachusetts.
Our priorities include CHAPA's:
Here are some Meeting Tips if you are visiting with legislators or their offices!
This year, CHAPA will present our Housing Hero Award to Senator Joseph Boncore for his leadership and support for affordable housing, homelessness prevention, and community development. Senator Boncore served as the Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Housing during the 2016-2017 legislative session. As Chair, Senator Boncore worked closely with House Chair Kevin Honan in shepherding a $1.8 billion Affordable Housing Bond Bill through the legislature and to the Governor’s desk. Senator Boncore also helped secure increased funding for affordable housing programs in the state budget and moved forward legislation to address our affordable housing shortage.
