Bay State Foreclosure Deeds, Petitions Decline In October (Banker & Tradesman) – November 18, 2010

For the first time this year, both year-over-year foreclosure petitions and deeds decreased in Massachusetts, according to The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman.

Foreclosure petitions – the first step in the foreclosure process in Massachusetts – dropped to 1,127 in October, a near 51 percent decrease from 2,296 in October 2009. This is the first month since January that foreclosure petitions have dropped below 2,000. A total of 22,091 foreclosure petitions have been filed so far this year, compared to 23,931 for the same period last year.

DHCD Announces Rental Housing Awards – June 22, 2010

BOSTON – Monday, June 21, 2010 – As part of the Patrick-Murray Administration’s ongoing commitment to boost affordable housing production, create jobs and foster economic growth, Governor Deval Patrick today pledged more than $189.9 million in resources leveraged from various affordable housing programs and private investment to support the construction of 32 rental developments in 19 communities across the state which will yield an estimated 2,400 construction jobs.

Summary of FY 11 HUD Budget by House Appropriations Subcommittee (NLIHC) – July 13, 2010

Moving ahead without a completed budget agreement, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (T-HUD) approved its FY11 appropriations bill on July 1. The T-HUD Subcommittee bill would provide $46.579 billion in discretionary funds for HUD, over $1 billion more than the President’s request. The bill passed the Subcommittee by a voice vote.
