In the 2011 budget, HUD proposes to launch a multi-year effort called the Transforming Rental Assistance (TRA) initiative to preserve HUD-funded public and assisted housing, stem the loss of affordable units, enhance housing choice for residents and streamline the administration of HUD’s rental assistance programs.
