People who have serious mental illness and are homeless or housing insecure are the most vulnerable among the vulnerable. Without quality, affordable housing, engaging in effective treatment and achieving recovery is near impossible.
The good news is that solutions are within reach. Across the Commonwealth, there are best practices in housing first, permanent supportive housing, rental assistance and development that can be brought to scale. Likewise, stakeholders across different sectors are working together in innovative ways to develop and subsidize the housing stock needed to address demand.
