CHAPA welcomes Vincent O’Donnell as the Board of Directors’ Interim President - January 8 2015

CHAPA welcomes Vincent O’Donnell as the Board of Directors’ Interim President. Vince will replace Chrystal Kornegay as she takes over as Undersecretary for DHCD. Congratulations to both!
 
Vince has had a long, illustrious career in the Massachusetts affordable housing community. Currently a Senior Advisor to Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH), Vince was Vice President of Preservation at the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), a national nonprofit support organization, where he led a major national initiative to support the preservation of at-risk affordable multifamily housing; and Director of Development at Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation (CEDAC), a quasi-public corporation providing technical assistance to nonprofit housing developers in Massachusetts, where he conducted policy development and research on the preservation of federally assisted multifamily housing and assisted nonprofit organizations to convert HUD subsidized property to nonprofit or cooperative ownership and to produce new affordable housing. Prior to joining CEDAC, he was Executive Director of Homeowner's Rehab, Inc. and Cambridge Neighborhood Apartment Services, Inc., two nonprofit housing development corporations.
 
Vince is a founding facilitator of the National Preservation Working Group. He serves on the boards of directors of several affordable housing-related organizations, in addition to CHAPA’s, and also serves on the Advisory Committee of the Newton Community Development Foundation. Vince previously served as CHAPA’s President from 2009-2011.
 
Vince’s current term as President will last until CHAPA’s next annual meeting in October 2015.  We look forward to his steady and strong leadership during this transitional year.
