Does Your Organization Need Project Support? Let the RWU CPC Help!

The Roger Williams University Community Partnerships Center (CPC) is currently accepting applications from local nonprofit organizations, government agencies and municipalities throughout Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts for projects for the fall of 2014 and the spring of 2015. The deadline for applications is March 3^rd, 2014 at 5 pm. 

What is the RWU CPC: The CPC delivers project-based assistance to organizations to tackle community projects that often require specialized expertise or additional resources. Projects allow faculty and students to undertake and complete projects that will benefit the local community and provide RWU students with hands-on, experiential learning.

To date, the CPC has completed 78 projects for local organizations, and is currently working on 38 projects for the spring 2014 semester.  These partnerships provide a deeper academic experience for RWU students by allowing them to work in real-world projects with the support of a faculty member through curriculum-based service learning opportunities.

What types of projects can the CPC help with: The CPC has experience working on projects, including:

·         Business feasibility studies

·         Graphic design and website development

·         Public and organizational surveys and market research

·         Education curriculum development

·         Architecture projects including affordable housing design, architectural design projects, and recommendations for historic building rehabilitation

·         Sustainability research and planning

·         Engineering studies

·         GIS mapping

·         Economic redevelopment research

·         Psychological research

·         Content writing for organizational documents

·         Developing marketing and communication plans.

During this call for projects, the RWU Community Partnerships Center is also seeking projects with the focus on the following topics for the fall 2014 and spring of 2015.

* Translation projects for brochures and other shorter public documents from English to Spanish or Spanish to English. Projects should focus on the topics of employment, education, media, community outreach, housing, cultural events, and entrepreneurship for Latinos in Rhode Island.

* Research projects which will focus on issues surrounding your organization and Latinos in Rhode Island, including: employment, education, media, community outreach, housing, cultural events, and entrepreneurship.

* Projects with a focus on museum studies, including, but not limited to: historical research, historical writing, historic preservation, museum design, business feasibility, marketing and promotion.
