Position Summary: This position will strengthen MHSA’s role as a leader in the advancement of solutions to homelessness, specifically through quality, low-threshold, permanent supportive housing throughout Massachusetts. The Housing Solutions Manager will manage programs across Massachusetts by conducting site visits, monitoring compliance, engaging service providers, and providing technical assistance. The Housing Solutions Manager will also be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on data related to permanent supportive housing. They will be part of the four-person Technical Assistance and Data Analysis Team within the larger Programs Team at MHSA.

Reports to: Director of Programs & Planning

 

Status: This position is full-time, 40 hours a week, exempt.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and provide technical assistance and support to 15-25 subcontracted housing provider agencies.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with provider agencies.
    • Work with provider agencies to identify areas where support and resources are needed.
    • Work with provider agencies to identify the larger system changes for MHSA’s advocacy and policy work.
    • Conduct regular site visits to assess program needs, monitor compliance, and ensure programs are low threshold and follow Housing First principles.
    • Write comprehensive monitoring reports following each site visit.
    • Create and maintain an internal database of trainings and resources.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data.
    • Compile statewide information on permanent supportive housing inventory and the demographics of those living in it.
    • Analyze data to identify systems gaps, bottlenecks, equity, outcomes, and areas of need.
    • Develop reports and presentations to communicate data and progress to a variety of stakeholders and audiences.
    • Collaborate with internal staff and external agencies to determine how MHSA can be a leader in Racial Equity work, especially regarding access to permanent supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness.
  • Other duties as reasonably required to support MHSA’s mission and organizational operations.

 

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience or equivalent education required
  • Direct service experience, especially in permanent supportive housing, preferred
  • Experience in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data
  • Ability to use data to create reports and presentations for various levels of understanding/expertise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially for written reports
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with funders, partner agencies, and other non-profit organizations
  • Knowledge of Housing First, low-threshold programming, supportive housing, and MHSA’s priority populations experiencing homelessness
  • Passion for MHSA’s mission of ending homelessness
  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, with at least intermediate Excel skills
  • Commitment to forwarding racial and ethnic diversity in all aspects of this work
  • Familiarity with data collection and analysis
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to take initiative and complete detail-oriented tasks on time with exceptional accuracy
  • Ability to relay information clearly and concisely
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must reside in Massachusetts while employed at MHSA

 

Compensation and Benefits: 

  • This position is 40 hours per week, exempt. Salary range is $55,000-$60,000 per year.

Note: MHSA supports a hybrid work environment. Staff are expected to work from the Boston office as needed to ensure maximum performance and results, and at the direction of supervisors.
