Position Summary:

The Program Coordinator role in the Massachusetts Community Climate Bank (MCCB) situated within MassHousing, is a highly visible, and impactful position with a broad scope across the MCCB multifamily and single-family business lines focused on clean energy solutions in underserved markets. Success in this role hinges on a strong capacity for acquiring new business knowledge and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced and highly entrepreneurial environment. This role requires daily interaction with executive and senior team members within MCCB and MassHousing. The successful candidate will possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and a genuine desire to build a new mission-driven enterprise within an established institution. This position is responsible for coordinating a range of projects, communications and operational and administrative tasks for MCCB. The position will enable successful completion of key initiatives, support executive decision-making, and help foster a collaborative and high-performance organizational culture.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to join a new and fast-growing team of interdisciplinary professionals working to advance the state’s climate goals through innovative financing programs and products. MCCB is the first climate bank in the nation to launch with a specific focus on decarbonizing affordable housing. Strategically placed within MassHousing, the State’s Housing Finance Agency, the MCCB leverages MassHousing’s existing capabilities and infrastructure to help homeowners and developers cut their energy use, reduce or eliminate reliance on fossil fuels, and lower carbon emissions while improving health and quality of life for residents across the Commonwealth. MCCB is deeply committed to delivering the benefits of clean energy to low- and moderate-income residents and Environmental Justice communities disproportionately burdened by climate change, pollution, and poor health. This position serves as an exceptional platform for a highly organized and experienced individual to develop and refine their business acumen while building a robust professional network with leaders in affordable housing, clean energy and climate.

This position has been designated as "Flex" under MassHousing's Alternative Work Schedule (AWS)-hybrid work model meaning being on site/in the office two to three days a week. However, during the first 90 days, the employee may be expected in the office more frequently for training and onboarding. Flex means in the office at least three days a week.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Coordination

Coordinate a range of short and long-term projects for the MCCB Director and senior team. This may include, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Conduct review and reconciliation of monthly invoices from third party vendors/contractors.
  • Assist with preparation of annual reports and other compliance documents.
  • Gather and analyze research and data from MassHousing Departments and vendors/contractors.
  • Coordinate marketing campaigns, product development and workflow.
  • Prepare case studies, fact sheets and other collateral materials.
  • Maintain up-to-date document library and filing systems.
  • Assist with project planning and tracking of milestones and deliverables.  

     

Communication and Collaboration

  • Facilitate effective communication within the MCCB team and across the MassHousing organization, including preparation of agendas, notes and supporting materials for internal meetings and briefings.
  • Support the Director and senior team in maintaining strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders, including coordination and scheduling of meetings and events.
  • Assist with drafting and delivering executive communications, including memos, reports, and presentations.
  • Host both in-person and remote meetings via platforms such as Zoom, Teams, etc.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

     

Operations

  • Manage the Director's and as needed the senior teams’ schedule, communications, and administrative tasks.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of MCCB operational policies and procedures. 
  • Handle incoming mail and emails as requested and required. 
  • Coordinate planning and logistics for in-person events, including scheduling, planning, setup, and cleanup.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

     

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

The Program Coordinator should possess a combination of soft skills, industry knowledge, and technical abilities. These skills and qualifications include, but are not limited to:

  • Proven experience in an administrative or operations role.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with diverse stakeholders to effect operational improvements.
  • Strong project management, time management and relationship management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, encompassing speaking, writing and active listening.
  • Ability to work independently and keep projects moving with minimal oversight.
  • Comfort in high-pressure environments.
  • Proficiency with technology and adeptness in collaborating in remote settings.
  • Ability to create high-quality reports and presentations using Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency in all other MS Office applications including Teams.

     

Minimum Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a field directly related to assignments and three years of professional experience in work related to assignments.
  • Prior experience with affordable housing, building decarbonization, climate resilience and/or environmental justice initiatives is a plus.

     

Salary Range: $60,522.72 - $75,653.40
