Description: The Arlington Housing Authority seeks a highly motivated and professional individual for part-time employment as a Tenant Selector. General responsibilities will include a range of activities related to determining and documenting housing applicants for State-Aided Public Housing eligibility, qualification, as well as calculating rent using written administrative policies and procedures, and EOHLC regulations. Provides CORI/SORI checks as well as other checks required for applicants in accordance with EOHLC regulations and AHA policies and procedures. The position requires full accountability for assigned cases, including accurate and complete files, reporting, resolution of customer service cases, and responsiveness to applicants.
Responsibilities include:
- Staying up to date with local, state, and federal laws and regulations impacting AHA’s housing programs, including fair housing laws.
- Completing trainings and certifications that are required to utilize the iCORI system, CHAMP system, Wage Match and others.
- Using the CHAMP system to complete processes and screening in accordance with EOHLC regulations and AHA policies and procedures.
- Scanning and uploading applicant documentation to the applicants digital file in CHAMP as well as other letters or documentation sent by the AHA to the applicant.
- Receiving and reviewing income eligibility documentation and verification.
- Calculating rent in accordance with EOHLC regulation.
- Screening waitlists and making eligibility determinations on applicants to fill vacant units in the AHA’s state public housing programs.
- Using the EOHLC Vacancy Reporting system to update applicant status as well as entering new admission data into PHA Web.
- Preparing lease up paperwork for property managers.
- Responding to the public, applicants, and resident inquiries, via phone or email, and maintaining a high level of professionalism in the office.
- Maintaining vacancy rates below EOHLC required levels.
- Performing all other duties, as assigned by the Executive Director.
Salary Range & Hours: Part-time position 18 hours/week. Salary range is between $30.00 - $32.00 per hour dependent on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in benefit or program eligibility administration.
- Strong interpersonal communication and writing skills.
- High level of integrity; ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Attention to detail; ability to multi-task while staying organized.
- Adept at using Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook, and ability to quickly learn computer software programs.
- Ability to type quickly and accurately, and to use office equipment such as phones, fax machines, copiers, and scanners.
- Excellent English vocabulary and grammar skills; bilingual candidates preferred.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to work cooperatively and pleasantly with a diverse population.
