MRC seeks qualified housing search entities for those served by the Money Follows the Person Demonstration grant, the Acquired Brain Injury, Home and Community Based Services Waivers, and MRC state-funded programs - January 7, 2014

The Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) seeks to create a pool of qualified housing search entities (HSEs) to perform specific housing search tasks to assist in finding community-based housing for adults with disabilities and elders served by the Money Follows the Person (MFP) Demonstration grant, the Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Waivers, and MRC state-funded programs.

For the purposes of this procurement, an HSE is a non-profit or for-profit entity or individual that has experience assisting low-income households to secure housing that meets their needs for accessibility and affordability. This procurement will establish a statewide pool of qualified HSEs that will cover each of the five regions established for the MFP Demonstration.

Individuals needing assistance with identifying accessible and affordable housing will be those who are transitioning from nursing facilities, chronic and rehabilitation hospitals, psychiatric hospitals and intermediate care facilities (ICF).  These individuals will be over 18 years of age with a broad range of disabilities including physical, intellectual, psychiatric, and neurological impairments.
