David Koven has been providing productive consulting services to clients seeking to develop or invest in affordable rental or homeownership projects for over 20 years. Clients include nonprofits and for-profit developers, equity investors, and public sector lenders. The scope of services offered is tailored to the Client's requirements, and can range from initial feasibility studies and site assessments to long-term comprehensive project management. While David Koven has worked on projects as large as $120 million, most are in the $10-$75 million range and include both preservation and new production. David has utilized most HUD programs, many state loan and equity resources, as well as frequent commercial lender participation. Where viable, much of the work is delegated to the Client in an effort to economize and to build the Client's capacity. David Koven has worked as a developer, housing program administrator, planner and community organizer over the past 40 years.
