The State of the Nation's Housing 2016

The State of the Nation’s Housing report has been released annually by Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies since 1988 and continues to serve as an essential resource for both public policy makers and private decision makers in the housing industry. Funded by the Ford Foundation, the report provides a current assessment of the state of housing markets for both rental and homeownership; the economic and demographic trends driving housing demand; a look at American household finances including wealth, income, and debt levels; ongoing housing affordability challenges and efforts to expand and preserve affordable housing.
