On Solid Ground On Solid Ground is a coalition of cross-sector organizations committed to a research-based approach to increasing housing stability and economic mobility for families with low incomes living in Massachusetts. Through this approach, the coalition aims to prevent and reduce homelessness, thereby improving housing, education, income, and health outcomes for families living in poverty. The Coalition’s research proves that increasing stability and reducing family homelessness requires a four-pronged approach:

BOSTON - Wednesday, October 7, 2015 - As outlined in the City of Boston's Action Plan to End Veterans and Chronic Homelessness, Mayor Martin J. Walsh announced today that the City of Boston is seeking a vendor to create the City's first-ever Coordinated Access system (CA) - a single platform that providers, housing owners and the City will use to match homeless individuals with available housing paired with supportive services.

MHP is offering a two-part, updated Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing (AFHM) and lottery training curriculum this fall.   The first workshop will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 21 and the second workshop will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5. Both sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lawrence campus of the North Essex Community College, 360 Merrimack Street, Riverwalk Building, Lawrence, MA 01840.

Yesterday Sheila Crowley announced that she will retire in 2016 from the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) after leading the organization as President and CEO for over 17 years. Dr. Crowley will continue with NLIHC through April 2016 to ensure a smooth and successful transition for her successor.

Yesterday, Governor Charlie Baker and Undersecretary of Housing and Community Development Chrystal Kornegay announced awards for the 2015 competition to fund affordable rental housing development, renovation, and preservation in the Commonwealth.
