Four individuals who have been champions for the affordable housing industry at the local, state, and federal levels will be inducted into the Affordable Housing Hall of Fame this year:
On July 16, HUD published a revised Assessment Tool (see Memo, 7/20) to be used to complete an Assessment of Fair Housing (AFH), as required by HUD’s new affirmatively furthering fair housing (AFFH) rule (see Memo, 7/13). Comments on the Assessment Tool are due August 17.

Mass. Foreclosure Petitions Increase In June
BOSTON, Aug. 4, 2015 – Mass. foreclosure petitions rose in June, posting an 81 percent increase compared with June 2014, according to a new report from The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman. This marked the 16th consecutive month of increases in petition filings.
13A Tenant Outreach Program RFQ

The Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation (CEDAC) seeks qualified organizations and individuals to provide tenant outreach services for tenants currently residing at expiring use 13A properties. This Tenant Outreach Program (TOP) will provide information to tenants at all expiring use 13A developments.
Last week, Governor Baker signed the FY2016 State Budget. He also issued vetoes affecting important affordable housing, community development, and homelessness prevention programs.
These vetoes include:
DHCD has posted a Draft FY 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan, including a Draft FY 2015 Action Plan. During the public review period, DHCD will hold the following public hearing and will accept written comments until August 3, 2015.

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced a final rule today to equip communities that receive HUD funding with data and tools to help them meet long-standing fair housing obligations in their use of HUD funds. HUD will also provide additional guidance and technical assistance to facilitate local decision-making on fair housing priorities and goals for affordable housing and community development.
