The Massachusetts Union of Public Housing Tenants awarded state Rep. Marjorie C. Decker its annual “Thelma Rogers Award” for her work in the Legislature and throughout her career in public service to expand access to safe, affordable public housing.
Jack Cooper, executive director of the Massachusetts Union of Public Housing Tenants, said, “Residents were proud to award Rep. Decker because she exemplifies what we hope all tenants will be able to become once they leave public housing: a person who cares about their fellow citizen.”
Earlier this week, the Senate Committee on Ways and Means (SWM) released its state budget recommendations for fiscal year 2017 (FY2017). The budget includes strong support for many affordable housing and homelessness prevention programs. Click here for an overview of how CHAPA’s priorities were funded in the HWM budget proposal.
