Across New England, HOME is used to support affordable housing programs for persons experiencing homelessness, seniors, persons with disabilities and other individuals and families with low incomes. It's a uniquely flexible resource, and there is huge demand for these funds. Since FY2010, HOME funds have been reduced by 51%, going from $1.8 billion to $900 million.

Help Ensure THUD Appropriations Subcommittees Have Highest Possible Funding for Housing Programs in FY16 The House and Senate Committees on Appropriations will decide soon how much funding each appropriations subcommittee will receive in FY16. This funding allocation for subcommittees, called the 302(b), will determine how much money is available for HUD programs in FY16. On March 2nd, HUD announced that it is awarding $150 million in rental assistance to 25 State Housing Agencies to help prevent individuals with disabilities from being unnecessarily institutionalized or falling into homelessness.
